Its my last day in Vancouver. Tomorrow I will wake up early to get to the airport by 8.30 and I will be on my way home. But I still have today! It is a beautiful sunny day outside. We have been very blessed to have sunny weather for the last week. Particularly as the first week or 2 were raining all the time and vancouver is a very rainy place. Almost as rainy as Seattle where we also had a lovely sunny day. Lots has happened since I last posted so I will try to update. Stephen, Bec, Chloe and I went to Seattle for the day last Sunday. We had to get up pretty early so there would not be much of a line at the border and I think everyone started a bit tired. We drove about an hour and a half to reach the US border. They are very serious at the border and I had to practise lots of self control in not asking about all the things I was curious about like the lack of toilets and the manufacturer of the webcams and other such interesting things. Better to be well behaved in US customs offices. So we got through customs without event and made out way past the turnoffs for strange towns such as Skagit and Chuckanut, went through Bellingham to get breakfast. We couldn't find IHOP (International house of Pancakes) and Stephen was sad but we did get to eat at Jack in the Box and we stopped off in the afternoon to buy ....... wait for it ...... wait for it ...... Real live American ........ Krispy Kremes!!!!!!! Being a Brisbanite I had never tasted such delectableness. Oh happy, oh joy! If only the guy who holds the entire Australian franchise licensing would be more expansive and spread the fun and joy to our little BrisVegas.
Moving along, Seattle was great. We went to the markets near the harbour and also to the obligatory Space Needle. There seem to be lots of people who like revolving restaurants on top of tall towers. Vancouver has the Harbour Centre - big tower, revolving restaurant on top. Seattle - ditto. Does Sydney's centrepoint tower have a revolving restaurant?
Meanwhile gotta go
we are going to the aquarium
see ya
